“So, too the tongue is a little member and yet makes great brags. Look! How little a fire it takes to set so great a woodland on fire!” Quotes my favorite book of all time, when describing the danger that the tongue can cause. Just like Smokey the Bear said, “Only you can prevent forest fires.” It only takes one match to set thousands of acres of forestland ablaze. Now I’m not even going to dignify Mr. Limbaugh, by repeating what he said about Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb, but it just goes to show even though quite small, the tongue when not used properly is a dangerous thing.
Now, Rush Limbaugh made a name for himself by using that tongue to say just about whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted and to whomever he wanted without any serious repercussions, at least until now. But I ask you, is he alone in that ancient, archaic slave minded mentality? Probably not. In fact, after he was forced to resign by the powers that be at ESPN, he was back in front of the cameras and his throng of like- minded supporters, not offering an apology, but pouring a little kerosene on the match instead of fire.
There is a saying that rings ever so true, it goes something like this, “Be careful what you say, because no one REALLY knows how ignorant you are, until you open your mouth.” With what Rush said everybody knew that “he don’t know football.” But instead of firing him, I’ve got an idea, why not let him suit up and practice, that’s right practice one week with a football team. No, not the Eagles, I’m talking about a regular high School team and then we’ll see how quick his tongue is then.
